Since tonight is my first night using my blog, I’m probably gunna be posting lots of stuff. I just was asked via facebook how to wear a boot over a jean in a way that doesn’t make short legs look shorter. Below-the-knee and ankle boots are your worst enemy when you have shorter legs (and under no circumstance should you EVER wear them with a denim mini skirt. I hate to say I once fell victim to this awful look in high school) It’s almost as if they cut your leg right off making it appear far shorter. If you find a pair you absolutely can’t imagine living your life without rocking them, do something monochromatic-black skinny jean/black boot. Because they’re the same color it’s hard to make out where the leg ends and boot begins, thus blurring this line. Heels, heels, heels! When in doubt, always wear heels, cuz they always make everyone hotter. 🙂 Really though, they make the leg look much longer and even give you a mini butt lift. Wearing heels often helps you to have better posture, you’re more likely to suck in, and they build calf muscles. So..what’s the problem? They hurt? Carry a pair of cute flats in your purse or car if you’re afraid you cannot make it through the day. Trust me..it’ll save your life and your feet! High heeled boots are far more comfy because they have ankle support and more structure. A pointier toe always makes the leg look longer as well. If you’re feeling brave, a higher waisted pant will also lengthen your legs.
Now I know you Montana ladies are reeeeallly gunna hate me when I say this, but don’t if you’re trying to make your legs not look short, don’t wear Uggs. Uggs should only be used as snowboots. That’s the only time they’re cute. They’re not a fashion statement. This is why they’re called Uggs..cuz they UGGly. But like I said before, there is totally a time and place, especially in Montana. When used outdoors and with casual wear, they totally make sense. Uggs aside, black on black and a high heel will make your short legs look like long, sexay stems.
